Calling all Galway GAA supporters… The Latin Quarter is turning ‘Mainguard Street Maroon’ at 6pm on Thursday 31st August in support of the Galway Hurlers bid to win the Senior and Minor All Ireland Final and you’re invited!
Promising to be one of the biggest match build-ups the county have ever seen, supporters are asked to arrive in their county colours to create a sea of maroon in the city! On the evening enjoy a festive like atmosphere with Live Music, Interviews with a selection of Galway Hurling Legends, Street Entertainers & Face Painting, all MC’d by Galway Bay FM presenter Ollie Turner.
Don your best Maroon outfit and you could win two elusive All Ireland Tickets, along with a host of a host of spot prizes for whoever makes the biggest effort wearing their Galway colours.
Speaking of the event, Aislinn O’ Driscoll, Chairperson of The Latin Quarter said “It’s a massive occasion for The Tribesmen and we want everyone to come out and show their support for the Minor and Senior hurlers! The idea is to see the street filled with supporters in their county colours with an evening of fun and entertainment planned for all the family. The Latin Quarter is proud to sponsor the Galway hurlers and we wish them every success in their All Ireland endeavours”.
The Road to Glory event is being organised by The Latin Quarter, which is often referred to as the cultural hub of Galway and is home to many of the city’s quirkiest, owner ran and best-known pubs, restaurants, shops and hotels. The area also boasts pedestrianised cobblestone streets that offer a unique festive-like atmosphere and provides the heartbeat to the City of the Tribes.
